Minerva Farmhouse Renovation
Ben and Linda Mercer of Minerva knew they needed to improve the exterior of their home but were reluctant due to the pending cost and potential headache of the project.
Their 130-year-old farmhouse was remodeled in 1992 including a new 2-story room to replace a half story summerhouse. The Mercers interviewed several home improvement companies but ultimately settled on Canton Aluminum.
“Owner Jerry Ortman worked really hard for us. He was easy to get along with, listened to our needs and concerns, and really went the extra mile to explain to us what was available and the best options for us and our home.”– Ben Mercer
“From the beginning, we were pleased with our crew. They came early, stayed late and cleaned up after themselves every day. They listened when I was concerned and presented alternative design options for our consideration.”– Linda Mercer
The Mercers love the way the project turned out and especially long-time installer Rob’s recommendation on where to place decorative shake materials around their bay window and dormers.
“We can already tell a big difference. Besides being simply beautiful, the house is quieter and less dusty. Our air conditioner ran less this summer and we had fewer flies in the house!”– Linda Mercer
Canton Aluminum was also able to help find a solution to the “ugly wooden columns” Linda despised on the front of the home. Crews wrapped the columns in aluminum to improve the appearance and durability of the structure.
“This was a fantastic experience and we are 100% satisfied with the entire project. We miss the crew at Canton Aluminum, they really became like family to us.”– Ben & Linda Mercer
"From the beginning, we were pleased with our crew," said Linda. "They came early, stayed late and cleaned up after themselves every day. They listened when I was concerned and presented alternative design options for our consideration."
